HIIC - For those who have changed tranny / diff fluids...

What did you use in your tranny?

what works and what doesn't?

I'm asking HIIC since reading the other threads that cover this issue just confuse the hell out of me.

Bleh...I went to Jiffy Lube for the Tranny...so they must've used OEM Dino based fluids.

For the Rear Diff I've got a couple of bottles of Redline waiting for my lazy azz to put them in.

i've been using amsoil 75w90 syn for the tranny and rear diff since 10k. i've just did my 30k with the same stuff. got it from auto plus parts in waipahu for like $7.40 a quart. no problems with it at all for shifting or grinding. the fluid coming out during the change looked pretty much like when it went in 20k miles ago.
