let me see...if u do a search you'll see that this topic has been reviewd so many times already...it basically comes down to this...how do u want to build your car..with the two mod's u just mentioned i'm thinking performence correct..how long have u had your car ?..if less then a few months you should really take the time to learn about your car (which means driving it) so that when u do upgrade you'll see a big improvement...n e ways this is what i did to my car...i actually put the up/dp turboback and cobb ap pretty much on at the same time...didnt really have a chance to learn the car like i wanted to but o'l wells..so it's time to make a choice...
*hint* if u buy the up/dp there's a few guys online selling turboback exhaust for a good price..u may be able to get all 3 in one crack...
good luck..hope this helps

i think you definitely want to get rid of your catted uppipe either way.
while a turbo back exhaust is an excellent choice, have you thought of the QTP QTEC? It's quiet and stealthy when you want it to be, but loud, obnoxious and produces good power with the flick of a switch. If you want to be loud and have the 'modded' look 24/7 then get a TBE.
cobb ap is a good EM system because its end user friendly and i would say reasonably priced.

I saved up and bought the dp and AP...(no up)
at the same time...
Bought my PDE and Cobb Ap at the same time and jumped to stge2 immediately...that's what I would do. You will feel a substantial increase in power.
For a WRX, it would be good to save up the extra bucks and do your up-pipe at the same time as well...I would not like the idea of having a cat before my turbo...that substrate does not look all that stable to me...last thing you need is to get a small piece of that sucked into your turbo...it would make for a real bad day...
Because I have an STi, I did not initially purchase an up-pipe. I have since purchased a header that incorporates its own proprietary up-pipe. My car is running well and happy as a "LEEEETLE GIRRRLLL" as Mike Meyers would say prancing around holding his nipples...heh heh
OH...yeah..I already had a cat-back at the time...that was the first thing I bought...a B&B catback...

If you're going to change just your up/dp w/out doing the catback, you're going to have bottlenecks in your exhaust system, restricting proper flow intended by the upgraded pipes.
Between the choices you presented, I'd recommend the Cobb AP.

I woul skip the AP for now and save up to get a up/dp and a cat back at the same time the get a AP I think just like sneezerboi said you'd be bottle encking your exhaust and correct me if I'm wrong but is a AP really going to make a big differance if that is the only mod??? Might be better to put it together as a package..But yes getting to know your car better as hayn_wrx said is a great idea not sure where you guys can do that now??
