hello from Alabama,
Got refered over here from nasioc.
My wife and I are planning a trip to Hawaii in September. We are looking at going to Maui, but are still looking for information on the other islands.
Which Island would you guys suggest if not Maui? We are basically looking for information on what would be the best island to visit.
We have been looking at the Westin on Maui that is one the western tip of the island. If there is a good b&b or something that you may suggest that would be great.
I am making a list of these resturaunts that you folks listed, so we have the eatery side covered.
Thanks in advance,
Russ

Car Info: 2001 Impreza 2.5RS-T 2011 Forester Prem. SUBYS FTW
most of the place's listed here to eat is on oahu thats were most of us are from. maui is very nice tho.
Stayed at a B & B in upcountry Maui quite a few years ago. I believe it was named the Silver Cloud Ranch. By Hawaii standards it is quite cold in Kula, it was great for me because fireplaces in Hawaii homes are virtually non existent and it was nice to sit in front of one and be comfortable. The last time I stayed in Maui, I stayed at the Kamaole Sands in Kihei. Ate at Sam Sato's (fried noodles and white bean manju), but I think they moved from their "old house" location. Also liked buying bentos & okazu from that store across the old Sam Sato location, think it started with a K (Japanese name). I also made it a point to buy the "sweet-meat" kalbi ribs from Azeka's to BBQ back at the condo's hibachi area. Also Tasaka's guri-guri. My info may be out-dated as I haven't been to Maui since 1992. Anywayz, Maui has always been a get-away place for us Oahu peeps.
Thanks for the info! That helps us alot.
We were considering a change in plans from Maui to somewhere else in the islands, but it looks like the more info we find, the better Maui is looking.
Thanks again!

don't know much about Maui, but Oahu is more a city life/night life and off course the beach, Kauai is more like-if you enjoy nature and just wanna get away from everything...
every Island has a nice beach...can't go wrong, have fun!!!

Just talked to my friend who lives in Kula today, he said that Oprah bought the Silver Cloud Ranch, guess it's not a bed and breakfast anymore. And oh yeah, Kula Lodge has a pretty good restaurant there.
