got a ringing sound from clutch
When car is cold I get a ringing/whirring sound when I step on the clutch pedal. Sound occurs only within the first few inches of pedal travel. Sound goes away within a minute of driving. Dealer said they couldn't hear anything unusual. Not sure how they could not hear it, but it seems to be getting louder. Anyone know what it might be? Thanks.

could be your throw out bearing going bad or your pilot bearing is shot. since you're there changing your clutch disc and cover is also a good idea (get a replacement clutch kit). Resurface your flywheel as well.

when i havent driven the car for a while and its warm out i dont hear it. i just had my clutch and flywheel and everything taken care of about 20k miles ago and everythign was replaced, so i dont knwo what it is, but because it only does it when it is cold outside and the car is cold, i havnt thought much about it
i just make sure i push the clutch in all the way, and it goes away.
out of curiosity, what clutch flywheel do you have?

same thing happens with my car. started at around 15k, and only when cold. i was thinking throw out, because it's only when i push the clutch in. been slacking on taking it into service because i have no other mode of transportation to work.

Thanks guys! Yeah, I was hoping that it was a "new improved pre-rally mode hydrolic auto-electric clutch syncronizing procedure" that Subaru had developed from NASA space shuttle technology. Haha! Oh well, I'll be taking it back to the service department soon and see if they can hear it now. I really hate the idea of them cracking it open and letting all that factory new car smell out, but I know I have a limited warranty time on stuff like clutches. I work at a service department so I know these things can be frustrating for both sides. Wish me luck!
