Good exhaust shop for custom work?

At some point I'd like to have the exhaust on my Mustang re-done. The current system is actually almost brand new, but it wasn't done the way I wanted it (that's what happens when you live in HI, the car is in Connecticut getting worked on, and you're on deployment for 6 months ).

So, I'm looking for a good shop that can do a Dr Gas X-pipe for me, replace the mufflers, and do a bit of bending on the tailpipes to get them around the rear suspension. Anyone have any shops they can recommend?

Thanks,
Pat Olsen

Exhaust Systems Hawaii, they're right behind Schuman in Waipahu. The road that is perpendicular. Across from a hardware store, I think City Mill.

You're the fast Pat, I'm the severely in-debt Pat.

ESH is one of the only places on the rock to get exhaust work done, but I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. I'd personally look for a well made system on the mainland if you want to get it done right. I'm all for Hawaii No Ka Oi, but when it comes to my baby.....I get everything from the source. JMO

also, less than functional sometimes. But they are the only 'shop' I know of that regularly does exhaust work.

ACTUALLY, some of The best fabrication I've seen On island is Mike's downpipe, .... which was done at SpeedGear. I think Mike (the other one) did it, ... but I don't know if he's still doing work there like that, ... don't know if Gavin is doing that or not.

Trust me, if I could just order stuff to fit the car I would do so. However, nobody makes a pre-assembled Dr Gas X-pipe, let alone one that will mate up to BBK 1-3/4" long tubes with modified 3" collectors, incorporating 3" metal matrix Random Technology cats, all wedged around a modified transmission mount and a torque arm cross-member (which doesn't even exist on a factory car).

Considering that every damn SUV and pickup I see on this island has some sort of dual exhaust, there have to be some shops that know what they're doing. I've seen vehicles that I know don't have aftermarket support for dual exhausts, which means shops here on island are doing some custom pipe bending that looks pretty sharp. I need to find one of those shops.

Pat

well Patrick, being that you're on Pearl Harbor maybe you can convince one of the shop guys to use the mandrel bending machine. I think the baseyard has the only one on the island. I'm suprised that with all of the parts & accessories available for your beast that there are no tuners/parts retailers that have what you're looking for. I guess ESH it'll have to be.....
