Going Bigger Turbo....Any Suggestions?

As for the bowl volumes, I'm sure that the variances in volume are meaningless at lower power levels I agree. Chevy heads respond this way, but the chambers are Fracking (anyone watch BSG?) huge!!! Grace Park ftw btw...

sounds liek a cool idea from reading his thread on nasioc the cnc machine is setup to match the sti combustion chamber.
Here's my 2 cents about turbo selection:
We have enough money spenders on this forum now, such that you can ride in different setups. You need to ignore the peak numbers and ask them for a ride or a drive. They all come into boost differently, even with the same WOT curve.
They all drive differently. I don't have experience with ATP turbos but the peak numbers are compelling. I personally wouldn't recommend what I haven't yet witnessed, but I've driven a couple of rotated GT series cars. Ive ridden in a Red, and Ive driven Simon's high HP green.
I feel that the response of the rotateds are way better. I can't explain it. You have to try drive them. In the hands of a good tuner, they feel much more responsive in day to day driving.
The green, I don't know. Simon's car makes good power. But it doesnt feel that way to me. It's the way it rolls into boost and the boost onset is just not the same as the rotated cars. I understand why from a tuning standpoint, but I would keep your mind open to a rotated setup if you can for the time being.
If you don't drive your car daily and just want to brag about the peak number, anything bigger than a Green should make you happy.

Absolutely. For 400 bucks the process is compelling. I believe they used a 3d scanner to import the chamber into cad and then turned around and just let a CNC mill replicate it. I honestly don't know why it took so long for someone to start doing this. The other benefit is the surface finish left by CNC mills, short of polishing this is about the best finish you could ask for depending on the cutting bit.

I agree, i do think it would be fun to see.
have you ever pulled an engine apart, and seen all of the deposits and buildup on the valves and pistons?
It is extremely common, and these cars make just as much power with the same parts as the fresh clean ones.
That is why I think that there would be very little difference.
I know this is where reid will say that the comparison is not the same, because the parasitic friction from the newer parts is far greater than the drag from the worn parts. And that is true once again.
I'm beginning to like this guy and I have never even met him. I like rational thought process.

I have, more than once. The only flaw with that theory is that carbon deposits are not likely to hold heat unlike sharp edges and scoring in the combustion chamber. One of the original problems with the hybrid was people thought they could get away with the bore difference by just running thick head gaskets. Not only did they find out these have a higher tendency to fail but also that the lip of the combustion chamber had a tendency to cause hot spots leading to detonation. This drastically decreased the possible output by limiting the tuning. When dealing with internal combustion motors surface finish is very important. In some race applications you even see people polish the combustion chamber or even ceramic coat it. This is all done to limit the ability of the surface to hold heat.
