Question Functional Hood Vents

Just out of curiousity, does anyone know if the STi V.3 (basis for our 2.5RS) in Japan had functional hood vents? Have any of the STi versions had fuctional vents or are they all blocked off like ours are? Asking because I'm in the process of getting 22b vents painted and wanted to know if there are any things to worry about with removing the stock plastic vent covers...thanks.

Most of my friends in seattle had them open. If you didn't already know it rains a little more there then here.

Intake side vent is open on mine.
Battery side is still covered.
However, when I put the battery in the trunk I'll pull that one off too.

Nah, yank that one too. Nothing will happen to your battery. Just remember to wipe it dry after a rain or after washing your car and it's all good.
