Convert 97 LGT hood scoop to be functional?
Convert 97 LGT hood scoop to be functional?
Hi, I'm about to swap a EJ20H (sequential turbo) engine into my 97 GT with the stock TMIC, and was wondering if anyone had any good tips on making my hood scoop functional, or whether I would be better off getting an aftermarket hood or one off of a JDM Legacy.
I believe all you will have to do is remove a piece of plastic to make the hood scoop direct air over the IC.
The only thing left, would possibly be some sort of foam or rubber to seal the scoop to the intercooler when the hood is closed.

Good point on the gaskets though, I'll probably use some kind of rolled-rubber weather stripping or something for a good fit.
