Engine mount replacement fair price?

Hi Folks,

My aunt took her 2003 WRX Sedan (4AT) to Auto Air Clinic (2066 Dillingham Blvd, Honolulu, HI 96819) and Tommy Ko quoted her $2,000 to replace the engine mount.

Is this a fair price? How much should she expect to pay? Is there a better place around Kalihi she should take her car?

Mahalo,
Loren

(I live in SoCal. I'm just trying to help my aunt.)

Wtf - you are talking about the two engine mounts right? Left and Right?

The parts are less than 200$ and it's about 45 minutes on a lift, somebody is getting ripped. I'd say, at most - 350$

That's what I figured. Can someone recommend a shop she can go to instead?

Learned that the quote might've also included replacing both front LCAs and some other items.

Still would be good to know a good Scooby shop she can take her car to.

devilzdriver, thanks for the PM!

Replacing the LCA's is part of a recall that subaru initiated and should probably be done ( except if you take it to servco they might do it for free )

TBH, if you have a jack, and a socket set, you can change them yourself.

Streamline Performance is in Kalihi, makai side of Nimitz. Democrat Street. Kai knows his shtuff. super knowledgeable, friendly, and very fair in pricing. his employees are also helpful and knowledgeable as well. I hear nothing but good word about them!

The recall was for rust. Probably not a eligible in Hawaii.

If they're replacing LCA's in areas where they salt the roads then Hawaii will be no problem. When I finally pulled apart my suspension on my wagon which I brought from Utah, the rust was 100x worse than on this 93 L I'm currently working on, and the L has an extra 10 years of Hawaii. Salted roads are the worst for any vehicle I would imagine.
