ECU Reset erase tune? & UpPipe gutting

Srry Im still n00b. I am thinking of performing an ECU reset, IAW the steps on Unabombers threads on NASIOC, just outta curiosity. I was wondering. Does it erase tune information?? Would be a waste of my hard earned tunning money if I wiped that shiz clean with a press of a pedal.
Also figured since I am poor I might gut my uppipe also IAW Unabomber instructions. Anyone have any suggestions or would like to help me to make this a 1-2 day project?

On a ecu reset, the tune will stay but anything the ecu "learned" will be reset. The ecu will re-learn over some time while you drive.

FYI gutting your uppipe will effect your current tune on the car. i know money is tight but u can find used uppipes for under 100 bucks. just wait for it it will come

as my above Suby brothers mentioned. If you reset your ecu you WILL loose the short term learning that the ecu learned after the tune but you WILL NOT erase your tune.

As for the up pipe, like Shaggy mentioned it will screw with your tune whether you gut your up pipe or buy an aftermarket one. Best thing to do is to save your money buy an up pipe and other parts so that way you make your next tune worth it.

Personally I would not gut my up pipe. Reason being there is always the possibly of leftover foreign matter that could easily get loose and destroy your turbo. Just my 2 cents.

Don't gut any of your cats; besides particulate danger, it also impedes exhaust flow by causing gases to tumble in the empty chamber that was formerly your catalytic converter.
