Creating a Sleeper LGT
This is an on going project for me. Over the last 3 years I have slowly been customizing my interior. Wet Okole seat covers, floor mats, and a premium sound system. My goal is to make the car look OEM (to avoid safety check problems) but make this car perform the way a GT should. The forum has a wealth of information that i have been reading about and i think these goals are realistic and totally doable.
Future upgrades:
Access port and flash new maps for better engine performance
Springs and struts and lower car about 1"(conservative)
new rubber and keep the stock rims 18"
short throw shifter
Tune
exhaust (down pipes)
Brakes?
Things to avoid:
Cat back exhaust (only draws unwanted attention)
This is a family car and the upgrades have to be done in stages. My goal is to push this car to get 300 HP or as close as i can.
Thoughts?

I understand your want to keep your stock exhaust, however, I strongly urge against it. It is very possible to get near stock sound levels with an aftermarket exhaust. With your current upgrade path, the exhaust will be the weak link. An upgrade to a 2.5" exhaust, with a cat if you want to keep it quiet, will greatly increase the potency of your other mods.
