Question clutch question?

ok so i got my clutch changed to a brand new exedy clutch. and before i changed it the everything was still runing fine. but now with the exedy clutch the car tends to shake like crazy when i let out of first n even downshifting. ive already driven over 1,000 miles on the new clutch but it doesnt seem to be gettin any better. im about to take it out n replace it with a used oem clutch... anyone knows the problem? thanks

who changed it for you? what type of clutch are you running currently? if it's an upgraded clutch from stock then it could be additional clutch shutter with could be considered normal. Did you install a lightened flywheel? did you resurface your old flywheel? did you replace your throw out and pilot bearings? Is the clutch peddle a lot more stiff than it was prior? if so and you replaced it with an oem or oem replacement clutch kit then it's possible that the installer OVER TIGHTENED the clutch cover bolts. more information is needed.

yupz what jon said..its hard to say we need more info....i'm running the exedy clutch n flywheel combo from gruppe-s n compared to stock the flywheel is about 8-9lbs lighter..i also noticed additional clutch shutter which i consider normal..currently got 6k on clutch n flywheel...if you didnt install the clutch yourself then you'd have to make sure the installer changed out everything new(since your there already) n didnt over torque n e thing...shoots

the flywheel is probably your issue. with every clutch change, you need to change your flywheel

As stated earlier the flywheel should always be at a minimum resurfaced more preferably replaced. It has a tendancy to warp due mainly to its light weight and the temperaturs it operates at. When you put a new stiffer straight clutch disk in there it will skip or chirp on the out of round parts causing vibration and uneven war.

Trust me when Davin does clutch job and you still are re-using the fly wheel he will get it resurface. I just got my stuff done at RDautomotive and no complaints, besides jimmy having stinky arm pits. But ya take it back to him I know he would have no problem helping you figure your stuff out...

Jimi does bathe in brake fluid (at least that's what I saw when he was "helping" me work on my car...maybe that's why his pits smell. BTW...WTF are you doing so close to his pits Jason? I knew you were in the closet.

That is right, it is a must when you get a new glut h that you need to get a new flywheel or redo your old one.
