clunking sound?

I put in a set of tein s. Tech on my 04 sti and now I hear a clunking sound in the front (not rear) when I go over any bumps. everything was installed correctly and is properly tighten, I double checked, and I cannot figure out where the sound is coming from.

anyone have this happen before?

any ideas as to what I should check?

thnx

ok i dont know how to exactly explain this but the shaft that goes in to the lower part of the strut is what is producing the clunking sound. some people with 04 sti and lower ver. struts have this problem. some even here the clunk with stock springs. my ver 5 struts on my GC8 suffer from this. the only fix i know of is to jack up each side of the car oil the shaft and drop the car down. repeat this on each strut about 3 or 4 times. this will remedy the problem from anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks . good luck

you can put in a spacer under the nut that holds the tophat on and that should also fix the problem for good. i believe the clunk is usually from putting on shorter springs and there being play. hope that you get it figured out.
