My dad has a late 90s four cylinder Legacy with an auto transmission. It's developed a "clunking" sound which can also be felt through the accelerator and brake pedals. Sound only occurs when accelerating from a stop, till about 30 mph. The clunking rate seems to increase with the speed.

I'm clueless about what it could be. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks very much!
