Would wraping those pieces shorten the life of them? The wrap keeps the heat in but doesnt also weaken the piece?

heat wrap

I searched this one pretty good and found that the tape will rust traditional headers but will not effect the stainless steel downpipe, nobody mentioned weakening with the tape...however many people claim the ceramic coating will make the pipes brittle and advise against using any kind of bracket on a downpipe with the coating...but almost everybody agrees it is an excellent idea to use use some kind of heat insulation on the pipe for a few reasons..heat under the hood, exhaust temp for good flow also the cv boot is right there and should be sheilded..I ordered some tape..
