For a regualr CLifford alarm with ignition kill and remote door locks you're looking at about $250 installed.

another really awesome alarm is the compustar. my brother has it and it rocks.
not sure if its the same company as all the others- but its pricetag is kinda steep.
800 bucks starting (locally that is)

i've had probs with my clifford IG7000.. but i think that's becuz i have super old one... i hate having to click the button several damn times and hope it disarms... and when it disarms, it gives a low battery-dying kinda tone instead of the high pitch *(in case anyone knows why)...
i liked the 'turbo-timer-like' feature when it did work properly.

who installed it? Remote problems are very common among all brands....but from my experience clifford has been more reliable than viper and others. I think some of the problems can be fixed by soldering. I'm curious about the timer function. just doesn't work anymore? you should have it checked out.
thanks A --
i had installtech in mapunapuna do it... it still works, but i jus hafta push the button several times.... i'll go back to the shop and bug 'em, but it's jus damn hot at their shop and shoot the sh**.

A thought on the alarm ban from a law enforcement stand point. I don't think it will pass. There is an ordinance right now regarding alarms that if they go off so many times in a 1/2 hour the car can be cited. I have never heard of anyone writing that tag. Most P.O.'s have alarms. I set off three today in the garage. Kinda hard to ban something that tries to help against auto theft. Doesn't sound like a good idea to me. Some cranky old lady probably started the petition because it was waking her up at 4:30 in the afternoon.

oh yea speaking of turbo timers, my frens bf got locked out of his car four times in one day with it. he was using his hachi. that made for some interesting conversation that night.
