NOOOOOOO. I've got the EJ257.
I found it in the MWIC over on Nasioc.
Not too descriptive, but: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=768899

Wow. That's frickin horrible. I am sore fraid for my wrx. I seem to be burning more and more oil as the days go by. 40k miles, now. No oil on the spark plugs, just seems to be a lot of blowby when I disconnect the IC. I think I also may have blown a seal on the turbo. If so, that is good news.
Pat, how is your engine coming along? Did you get it back together?

No. I'm to the point where I'm about to seal the cam covers onto the heads but I'm cleaning the mating surfaces, first.
I don't know if I want to buy a clutch or at least a more firm pressure plate before I bolt the engine back into the car. I've got a Hypersingle that I got for dirt cheap, but I can't find a replacement clutch plate for it.

It would have to be detonation or over-revving.
The detonation could have been caused by a kinked fuel line.
That or he could have been using one crystal piston.
