Why would a bullet proof vest help you in that regard?

Wouldn't a quarterbacks vest or wrap be better? and don't motocross dude have stuff that's made for this?

A bulletproof vest is mostly kevlar with a metal breast plate for your heart, made to stop high velocity objects, not obsorb broad impact.

What the hell do you need a bullet proof vest for, just use the normal chest guard. I'll let you borrow mine along with my Fox knee/Shin guards. Hell you can borrow my kevlar protected gloves to oif you want.

I have this, but there are still vulnerable areas like the whole velcro area near the bottom and the sides. And if you ever go over the bars, you usually absorb the bars in your gut, and hardly ever on your chest where they put the plastic.

And i read in a moto mag that riders where them because the vests disperse the energy over a larger area, so the handlebar end doesnt impale you.

wearing a vest cant hurt thats for sure, id rather get beat down with a baton wearing a bulletproof vest rather than the "armor" i have.

A bullet proof vest dude? really?

1. They are heavy as hell and uncomfortable.

2. They make motocross gear that has dense foam padding with hard plastic over it... Go to a motocross bike shop, they work great, I know from experience.

If you really want a cheap bullet proof vest, go the surplus store on El Camino REAL in Sunnyvale, they have some old flack jackets for like $100.

Well, in that case... go to the surplus store in Mt View/Sunnyvale (can't rememvber which city, right next to each other.)

If you need protection down on your lower abs/gut, look for football padding products. Probably lighter, cheaper and more comfortable.

There's a surplus store near San Thomas on Stevens Creek (Santa Clara), and there's one on El Camino near Castro, in Mt View.

I would recommend the Alpine Star Bionic Armor jacket if you want full chest/back/shoulder/arm protection.

yeah ive been looking at different moto armor, since my dads EVS in the first pic is a few years old and too big for me.

That astar one looks nice, i havent tried on that kind yet.

I just wanted to know what to spend my $150 on, a moto vest, or a bullet vest since thats what i read in this months dirt rider.

most "bulletproof" vests are soft material. kevlar.

even with the SAPI plates, that are centered around the center mass of a person's chest, they dont protect much of the chest overall...

just get proper moto-x gear...

I read this title and thought to myself... "Oh snap you must be moving into my neighborhood."
