What would you recommend for engine break-in oil and where to purchase it...

yar, run any non-synthetic 10w-30 for the first couple thousand

yup, non synthetic 10w-30 for HI weather but if you really want to you can run the 5w-30 that is recommended. remember though because it's less quality oil you'll need to check it periodically to make sure you've got enough oil to lubricate your precious engine.

Spanks...I hope one day I will have a brand new car but right now I will normally just pick up 2-3 year old cars to let someone else pay for the depreciation.

This could all change with the next car (Forester in a couple years for the wife) if the economy still sucks...I might go into the Suby dealer and ***-rape them on the price just to see what I get.
