ATTN: nOObs
Hello! Nother HI noob here. Moving to Oahu in July. Trying to set up utilities there and was wondering what my options were. Who are the big players/best service/etc regarding:
-Cell phone service (least dropped calls on the islands)
-Internet service
-Cable or dish service
Thanks!

Shockingly, ATT cell service is great on O'ahu despite how crappy it is in the Bay Area. 4-5 bars ALL the time! (Good service on Maui too, if you're ever inclined to go there)
As for internet and cable, Oceanic Time Warner pretty much has the market cornered IIRC. Just about everyone and their mother uses OTW's Road Runner broadband. OTW has a branch office located in the basement of Sears in Ala Moana -- it's pretty convenient if you live in Town to get things done there regarding your cable/internet.

Are you no longer on the islands?

No problemo.
IIRC cable was pretty steep due to the practical monopoly over there, but don't quote me on that (I didn't bother with it since I didn't really watch TV). Try checking with other locals you know.
I'm no longer on the islands, but it's my short term goal to return.

New here. Moved in early July, car got here on the 15th. Nevada plates "GRP N" on Blizzaks 2006 OBP relatively stock looking. I'm mainly on nabisco and sometimes IWSTI. Where is the meetup on Fridays? I'm in Honolulu. My summer wheels are still on the boat, but that is a different topic entirely. . .
