ATTN: ALL TOYOTA & LEXUS owners on i-club.com
Due to a accident on the Mainland(California??) where the owner of a 2009 Lexus es300 gas pedal was stuck to the floor due to faulty floor mats, Toyota are recalling 3.3 million of these items. Im just quoting what KGMB9 news just stated. Accident occured 08/29/2009..
I know there are Toyota/Lexus owners here still on HIIC so just a FYI for you fellow PEEPS!

Shame and sad things like just floormats can cause loss of life of a family, especially to a member of law enforcement.
In the event something like this happens to anyone, and I hope it happens to no one:
Downshift as much as possible. Just drop it low and let the engine brake itself. Depending on situation, you may want to just blow your motor if you are going that fast. Lives are at stake.
Turn off the ignition.
Brake.

ive heard of things like this happening when you have your regular floor mats and then on top of the floor mats you have your all weather floor mats which is a big NO No. hopefully that wasn't the case here.
RIP to the family members of the ppls in this crash. what a horrific way to go cause a something getting stuck.

thats weird most toyotas have 2 clips that hold the mats in place carpet or all -weather OEM mats.
shaggys right - placing a carpet mat over a allweather or the other way around is a BIG NO NO! there is even a WARNING on the back stating that
if its a a design error then it be a different reason
