dammit.
it is like getting a new car. i have to break it in. i just wanna rip off the carger and start playing, but i gotta condition the battery so it lasts longer. just one...hour...more...............b
Picked up mine (pre-order) on Monday. I traded in my GBA as I was tired of messing with external lights. I really got it for my son though (yea right). Also picked up Zelda for Gamecube.

GBA SP review
the good stuff:
- screen seems to have better definition over the old GBA.
- the sound is definitely better, but no jack for headphones, you need a adapter.
-10+ hour rechargeable battery life
-folding case is portable and durable(no scratching screens)
-no dust and fingerprints from installing an afterburner
the bad stuff:
- the backlight should be adjustable and stronger(i'm sure a mod in on its way)
- proprietary battery rechargeable means you gotta buy it from them
- no battery interchangeability like AA's
- no 1 hour charges anymore and the damn 15 minute charger is going to come out for AA batts!!
- top buttons commonly used for gear changes feel fragile and too cramped
OVERALL, it is worth it as i got used to it and love it after playing 2 hours last night when the battery was charged. b

I was going to buy it monday, but then the shop reminded me Auto Modellista comes out today! Unfortunately I'm a broke ***, so I have to wait on the GBA SP. Is it just me though, or does the screen look brighter on the SP than on the regular GBA, even with the back light off?

actually
the screen on my GBA with afterburner is way brighter. BUT the GBA SP's screen seems to have a better way or material (maybe the anti-glare thing) for lighting up the screen, so there isn't a shimmer within the screen. the shimmer looks like a slightly dirty windshield after you hit the wiper by accident while navigating the slalom at SCCA and you are heading into the sun right before your start to swear because you can hardly see. not that i know what it's like. is that diffraction? i forget any and all school related items. b
