Any minis race 1/4 mile?

You guys seen any Minis at the racetrack? Just curious. Wife wants one and I wanna bring it to the races. =) Heck shes only 4'11" and 85lbs (well when she isnt pregnant of course) so she will fit nicely. Not sure how my 6'4" 190lbs will fit in there, but worth a try.

Ah cool. I hear they are fun as hell to drive. Who knows. She wants one so I will probably buy her one once we find jobs there. Then she will shut up about the STi pricetag. =) I keep hearing "Do you know what else we could spend $35k on?" and stuff like that. Oh well, thats her job, the sensible one, Im the spontaneous one in this relationship. I saved up a wad of money to move to Hawaii and buy a new car so thats what Im gonna do. =)

And I WILL be brining the Mini to the track if we get one. of course she said she wanted to race it. Hah. That will be the day. Who knows she might surprise me. Would be cool if she liked it, she needs to come out and see i wont kill myself quarter miling. Oh well. She thinks its like serious speed and all.

I've seen at least two different mini's at the track here. Neither one was the "S", though. Bring it down.

For houses High 200's and UP
For condo's high 100's and up. I'd plan for at least 200k.

Yeah, thats what we figured. Gotta take a year or two in an apartment so the wife can get her US Pharmacist license. Shes been an asian licensed pharmacist for 10 years, just gotta take all the tests. Allow us time to get some more money saved up.

Looked at the fully-loaded Mini Cooper S and its only about $22k with all she wants. Not too bad. Might have to get one of them when we get there. Tide us over til the STi comes in... =)

I've seen one CooperS at the track and it ran in the 16's. Looked like it was brand new though and not being driven correctly(really old driver).

I hope the dealer you work with is better than Niello BMW in Sacramento. My friend drove down from Reno NV to check out the Mini. He drove the S model and then stepped inside the sales room to talk some numbers. Niello states up front that they tack on more than $4000 as "the only way they can make any money on the car." What a load! She (customer service gal, not a sales rep) told us that they haven't had any problems selling their allotment of Minis, probably because the demand is high and the production is low.

Good luck, Dave. Don't pay more than MSRP. The Mini test drive was good, but it ain't a $27,000 car! It does everything better than my old GLHS Omni but not to the tune of $15,000 better.

Ack, I wouldnt pay more than $23k for one and even then it sorta hurts. Would rather pick up an RSX or something. The cars are sorta cool lookin and a novelty, but not that great. Just what the wife wants at this time. Hopefully she will get over it. =)

hmm, might just get her the non-S since she doesnt need the power, would only be for my enjoyment if I ever drove it. More money saved=more money for my STi stuff. =)
