Any Ideas P0442?

I have this code P0442 Subaru - Evaporative Emission Control ( small leak ) on my 2003 Wrx wagon.
My friend looked at the fuel pump seal , small hoses at the rear charcoal canister changed the cracked ones , looked at the fuel filler cap ( seems good changed 2 years ago, and I don't smell gas ) also changed some hoses near the front alternator ( around the blue T- fitting ) but I still get this code after I clear it.Comes back on by end of the day maybe driving home from work.
Please any ideas how to find this cause ? this is driving me confused .

it could be a plastic piece that sits on top of the gas tank thats a plastic valve. Have seen them cracked alot.

you cant check it. its in the middle area. in order to get access to it, you need to remove your rear end of the car. Not an easy task.

If it is your emissions system going bad, I wouldn't worry about it too much. I drove around with everything capped off and the purge valve removed. Mine was leaking from the T section and I so happened to break a nipple of the valve.

Most larger shops should have a evap smoke tester to help locate a leak.

However, on an older car I would suggest simply disabling the CEL code.

Actually, come to think of it, have you noticed any fuel smell from the vehicle under the intake manifold? There was a tsb in regards to bugeye with an updated fuel line kit that replaced the fuel line under the manifold and a bunch of hoses that connect to the fuel rail.

1. Open current map in cobb accesstuner.
(if you don't already have this, you can email cobb and ask for it Accesstuner Race Request Form )

2. Select edit from top toolbar.
3. Click on advanced parameters (or ctrl + A).
4. Toggle off P0442.
5. Save map with a different name
6. Flash updated map to ecu.
