another CEL problem

another CEL problem

I researched and found jose's post on the CEL and cruise control blinkin post...I have the 3" APS tbe, CEL finally came on w/ the cruise control blinking....my question is if I run my car w/ these lights on, can i hurt my car in anyway? to my understanding i only wont have cruise control (no biggie).....Also, anyone on big island have/had this problem, i don't know where i can get this "mechanical fix"...if not im moving to oahu end of march, so i can wait until then...thanks and sorry of this irritates anyone..i did a search!

Do you have the AP? If so, you can just reset the ecu using the ap. If not, I believe you can disconnect the neg on the battery and tap your brake 3 times and that should reset the ecu. That should fix the problem because this happens to me on a regular basis. It doesn't hurt the car by the way.

do u have a cel reader find out what codes your throwing then search the codes and u'll know if its ok to drive or not. for exp. i had a cel i checked it and it was a p0733 p0732 which meant my 2nd & 3rd gears were incorrect and thus should not be drivin. so find out what it is for the post up on it so we can help u out better

again it depends on what codes ur throwing

ill put money on it that its for no cat on the tbe no problem wont hurt if that is it just buy the electronic fix its like 15 bucks

Do you have to tap the brake three times? I think you only have to disconnect the battery...

Car Info: 2004 Big Booty STi with a two finger gap.
nodnarb - i had this problem as well. The mechanical fix did not work for my 04sti. I used the Perrin resistor "o2 simulator" and solved the problem. HOWEVER, you should pull those codes and see what they are so that we can help you track this down..
