Wait didn't the 02-03 have the "Glass Tranny?" Launch control may kill your car.

So from what i have been reading, the 02's are known to have the "Glass Tranny" I have been talking to Barrett at Allwheelsdriven, and he told me 02's 1st and 2nd tend to blow up. But he said 03's are not that bad, really what it comes down to are people launching on tarmac. I will be launching from the dirt, and i don't plan on launching anything too high maybe 2700 if that. The drive train shock would be substantially less on dirt than it would be on Tarmac (Since you can slip in the dirt.) So in that case i would think i would be safe. If the trans does let go i guess i would HAVE to upgrade to RA gears, would just have to find someone that would put it in. But all in all if Barrett says i am golden, then i take his word. The big thing at the moment is i think OTC stage 2 MAP would do a noticeable difference to how the car drives at the moment. *** Rant over***

Cobb's OTS maps are just base maps. They should not be used long term and should not be driven hard on. You should get a custom tune as soon as possible.

The glass transmission thing is largely a myth created by people who couldn't launch properly. You can break late '02-'05 gears just as easily. The gear teeth are only 1mm wider. The 1st real improvement in gearing came with the '06s.

This is true! As for tuning goes now that i can data log (When i get the AP), i can get the information to a tuner and get a custom tune. Thats the plan at least. Does anyone have any recommendations?
