anyway, I would either find an RS spec cat-back exhaust or I would just have one custom made for your car.

Jon
if not... i would get a exhaust made for a rs.
the exhaust piping is smaller (2-1/4 or 2-1/2) on the non-turbo cars because of the backpressure

and power gains etc. Like rtakashi said we need a smaller diameter pipe due to no turbo and us having to keep some measure of backpressure ( dont worry about what that is) Go for something specific for our cars like a Greddy EVOII catback ( you can find those on EBAY every now and then for like 400 bucks) or something from Stromung, Brullen or Cobb. Ill try to find my favorites list on my computer and give you a PM with some sites to look at. Also you may want to look at Borla headers too to go with your catback, those sound so mean! Hope me 2 cents helps, just shoot me a PM if you have any questions cause before I went turbo I had the works done to my 2.5L but it just wasnt fast enough

backpressure = bad.
n/a motors perform better with smaller diameter piping because they have lower exhaust velocity as well as exhaust volume. a turbocharged motor puts more gases through the exhaust faster, therefore needs bigger piping. the reason that the same size piping hurts low end torque on n/a motors is that the exhaust velocity is inadequate, which in extreme cases can lead to reversal of exhaust flow. with the proper size piping you will have little to no backpressure with good exhaust velocity and proper scavenging of the cylinders.
