The sensation is like there are one or two quick, but distinct moments of hesitation while moving up the RPM range between 2500 and 4000...sometimes right before I notice the turbo really spooling up, and sometimes after it gets going.

I am probably overstating how severe the feeling is, but is definitely noticeable. My sales-guy even admitted to feeling it. If this is how the engine is supposed to be, then I would have no issues living with it.

I paid much more for the car than I wanted to ($24K vs. $22K) but got a decent deal on the trade-in and can live with the financing. Just gotta work on the negotiation skills I guess and not go in REALLY wanting the car!

Hawaii_Pat,
Must be you I see in the mornings heading down Lunalilo Home Rd.

rigos_gt,

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm planning on bringing it up the next time I take the car in. I'm waiting to see if a minor scraping sound goes away. I'm thinking the pads and rotors need to be worked in a bit, but we will see.

You know, I remember reading about some sort of 'pause' during acceleration in the owners manual. Gotta go dig that up again.

Oil change is high on the 'to do' list. Along with a good paint restoration. I swear they must use scrub sponges and ajax to wash the cars.

Again, thanks for the help!
