05 Legacy GT Wagon

Howzit everybody!

Just wanted to say thanks in advance for any help. Been lurking around and noticed that the crew here is helpful and not too hard on the newbies.

I'm checking out a 05 Legacy GT Wagon, and aside from the mysterious 'stutter' problem and a weak battery, are there any other problems people have had with their 05's?

You guys know of any TSB's that need attention?

Thanks again!

Brian

No TSBs that i know of but the Subie dealers here in Cali are not the best. Legacygt.com is a board like this but dedicated to the Legacy (obviously). Im jj808 there.

Welcome!

I don't think any of the stock Suby batteries are worth much...I had to change out my 04 STI's battery after only 12months...I've been using an Optima Redtop now for over 2 years...no problems at all...

I just bought a Odyssey PC680. My stocker was crapping out here in the cold weather of Ohio. New battery is ~15lbs vs 40lb stocker.

Thanks for all of the replies and the welcome!

I'll keep the battery issues in mind.

I would tell you to go to Waipahu Subaru but Brawn no longer works there and Pfleuger took over. It seems like Airport is the place to go now for support. Just be sure that is you do mod the Legacy to REMOVE the mods before taking it in.

BigKahuna808,

How are you liking your ride so far? I saw that you picked up an '05 GT as well. Was that the 5MT or the AT?

I like mine. Currently a little slow in throttle and handling for my taste, but not for long. I gotta pay a little more down, then here comes the mods. I was comming up pali the kailua side, and that hard turn in the town bound direction and the rear started comming up faster than the the front. Maybe Im not used to driving AWD, I always had RWD. But I like my auto. Im going to pay this one 3/4 down and look into buying a new suby already.

I fixed the stuttering problem with an AP,..done,,..but my fuel injector failed and some others on LGT.com had the same problem too,...

The more LGTs the better,..we can have a small meet sometime,..

Yeah, I read that the LGT was a little tailhappy on the throttle in tight turns. You correct with more throttle or ease off?

abakja1,
AP...Access Port? So the stuttering problem is a fuel mapping issue combined with a possible injector issue or the injector was a different thing?

Anyone have problems with the ground clearance driving around?

Well would be nice to meet other LGT owners. I just gotta get the wife to give the "ok" as I don't want an unhappy, 6 month pregnant woman who would rather have a Honda Odyssey breathing down my neck. On the other hand, my 4 year old loves the LGT.
