if you never say that you flashed the car, how will they know? SSMII and SSMIII both dont detect an ap flash...
this also goes down to knowing your rights as a consumer... a dealer cant just technically void your warranty just because you have mods... they need to prived sold proof that the mod is what caused the failure and also need to put that to paper work...i know that if i think my mod is what caused the failure, i am not gonna try to get work done for free, you gotta pay to play right?

When i worked at Kaneohe subaru about 3 years ago for a year. we had so many suby owners coming into us seeing if we could un-void there warranty b/c the went into the waipahu store with just a bov for a oil change. and the next time they went back for service the dealer was like "i'm sorry you don't have a warranty b/c you modded you car." even tho it's a bov they still will void everything. (by law they will lose in court) but who is gonna take them that far.
Now if they suspect you have had mods to your cars they sometimes will hook up to your ECU and run the #'s.
I seen ppls with an exhaust go in for a susp. problem and they wouldn't warranty the cars saying that "the exhaust gave the car more power then the susp. could handle causeing the clunking sound." total load of BS.
also we had track days were schuman would bring all there clients to track to race there cars. but it says clearly in your warranty that if you car is caught racing in any form at the track you warranty will be voided. and sure enough alot of ppls that went had there warranty's voided. not all but most. the subaru in hawaii is SHADY!
^that how a lot of dealers are...not just hawaii...
but thats where knowing your law, and knowing who to contact like SOA and lawyer will come in handy...
if anyone ever gets their whole powerrain warranty voided because of a bov, politely ask them to put that in writing...once they do that, contact SOA and if further needed a lawyer, and i can almost guarrantee you that you will get your car fixed...

i know that soa is not connected to subaru dealers...dealers are just that...dealers
but a quick call to soa, informing them of the bad service will most of the time result in a call from soa to the dealer

Well, ended up convincing the wife that she will enjoy the wagon even though she HATES wagons.
Went down to Waialae Subaru and the car was gone.
Talked to the manager there and he said that I might want to check with Pflueger on Beretainia because they sent some cars there.
Went to Pflueger, and sure enough the car was there. 2005 Legacy GT 5MT in Satin White with the black fabric interior. 85 miles on it with the plastic still covering the aluminum cladding on the door sill and trunk. Not really fond of the white, but it seems to work on the Legacy.
So, after 7 hours at the dealership I am the proud owner of a 05' Legacy GT Wagon!
I'll probably be taking it back in for the stuttering issue. Seems pretty pronounced and occurs mostly during moderate acceleration.
Looking like I'll be spending a ton of time detailing the car. Swirls galore, polish residue all over the place, windows are a bit streaky, the tires and wheel wells are still dirty (but shiny) and the trim could use a lot of attention. Still, I give the detail crew there credit. The car has been outside for 2+ years and they did a decent shine job considering the time involved.
So, if you see a GT Wagon out of Hawaii Kai with paper plates in the next few days, that is me.
