New 2010 WRX - Rough Acceleration in Tall Gears
Hey guys,
Just picked up my 2010 WRX about a month ago, and have put about 1200 miles on it so far. I have noticed a troubling behavior on the highway, particularly in 4th and 5th gears. Right around 3,000 rpm, if I depress the throttle to part-throttle or WOT, the car seems to accelerate pretty roughly up to around 4k. This is my first turbo car, but it still doesn't seem normal. I followed the break-in procedure, and use premium fuel. It's not lag either; it's more like a hesitation than actual turbo lag.
It seems like most people here suggest that the factory tuning is the culprit, but I find it hard to believe that it could be that bad. I hesitate to get a tune just to see if that's the cure. Anyone else notice this phenomenon, and is it normal? Does it go away after a few thousand miles?
Thanks for any responses.

take it to the dealer and have them reflash the ECU with the stock Subaru tune if you think it's the tune. I'd make em do it for free. Check to see if you happen to have any vacume lines disconnected. But it could just be lag. Or might need to be broke in a little bit more. idk, hope that helps a little...
