exhaust question

I just put on an N1 catback exhaust with uppipe and downpipe. However I am having a problem with the conection between the uppipe and the existing OEM catpipe that runs from the manifold. The OEM catpipe is a 2" pipe and my new uppipe is a 3" pipe so my gasket between the two keeps burning up after about a week. Is there anything to do other then changing out the uppipe? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Do you mean the downpipe to the midpipe?
They should both bolt on but you might have leaks. People just double up on gaskets and check and recheck the connection for leaks.

no its def the uppipe. first exhaust ive done, but the downpipe comes out to the back to the midpipe to the muf. i have a problem with the uppipe going into the turbo. the pipe that feeds to the uppipe is smaller then the uppipe so that gasket keeps blowing.

ditch the uppipe and just use the stock one.
Otherwise ur best bet would be to run down to a muffler shop and have em weld on a section of pipe that tapers down with a new flange, but that'll cost you $50 or so

his profile says he drives a 03. i'm thinking the warranty is expired anyway and he posted in the wrong section. or he bought a new car and hasn't updated his profile.
