(09 GRB STi) Fender rolling do I need it
I would like to equip my car with 18/9.5 rims wrapped with 265s.
The question is will they fit on my car without rolling my fenders. Is this possible?
If I decide to roll my fenders could I use a more aggressive rim (18/10.5) with 285s.
What is the best shop in the bay to use for fender rolling?
Any information will be helpful.

for 265's you dont need to roll em, assuming the wheels u get have an offset near 45.
even the 285 should fit. I've heard of someone fitting 295's without any modification and no rubbing.
As for rolling the fenders, you can do it yourself, and its not terribly hard.
Just take a wooden baseball bat and roll it back and forth inside ur wheel well, applying pressure toward the fender while doing it. Sounds weird, I know, but it works. Did it on a few previous cars and got around 10mm extra room to work with.

from what i've read, it depends on offset and spoke clearance to calipers. check here: http://t3hclap.com/archives/category/fitment. plenty of knowledge/experience with aggressive fitments on subys (not just GRs).

Much Respect
Thanks for the info. I'm not unhappy at all with your reply that was a fine link to help me with my research.
BTW I am currently looking at the Advan RS-D 19/9.5 or the Rota DPT 18/9.5. I just got to figure out the right offset.
I am from Dublin/San Ramon.

as far as the rota dpt's go, pm bigbobchamp. i think he has +44 and needed to roll slightly due to bc racing coilovers.
also check out http://www.wheeldude.com/catalog/pro...oducts_id=5921
or better yet, drive down 680 to wheeldude in fremont. if you lived out in livermore, i would highly recommend the 84 to get there (or just cruise it for fun).
on the advan side, my brother in-law had good results working with speed element (close to wheeldude, also in fremont) for his evo ix.
both vendors should be able to recommend shops to roll your fenders if needed.

In my opinion rota's are bad wheels. I've seen first hand how weak they are. (had a wheel break on my 00' impreza wagon under normal driving conditions) Plus I've seen tons of others with broken rota wheels.
For the Advan's I've never heard any good or bad, so maybe give those a try.
where in dublin/san ramon r u?
I'm just up the freeway in danville

I had DPT's in a 18x9.5 +44, lowered, 265's, no problem.
When I went to Work 18x9.5 +38's with 265's, I had minor rub (high speed, big dips and drop offs), so I had my fenders rolled at AutoHQ. They did a good job. No problems/rub anymore.
