TMIC is necessary when you go Stage 2 or pushing more than 17-18psi, the metal tangs will start to pull of the plastic endtank resulting with me being pretty pissed off when it blew the same day I got my tune. If not affordable, try to find someone who has commercial metal bands to keep it from blowing because its not fun when you're boosting then BOOM you blew an intercooler. Fitment wise you can adjust it with washers underneath the green arm that the intercooler mounts onto. I used 2 on the front and 3 on the rear bolts and so did LGT Mark who had the IC before me, no clearing issues with the clutch fill or the lines behind, and I don't think there's much differences between the 05-09 LGT and the 08+ WRX its based off of my car anyways.

Probably would recommend an STi TMIC as a better solution than metal bands.
I'd save up a it and get it right the first time around to save headaches

I'd say start w/ your brake pads, sways/endlinks, and springs/struts or coils(not really needed, but sure is nice).
I drove my bro-in-laws 2011 wrx. brakes are ****, and pedal feel isn't to my liking. Body roll is horrible. but he does have the cobb intake and is stage 1. Car's nice for dd, but that's bout it.

Yeah really, there is a reason why I avoid other forums haha. Well dont forget about process west or the FMS knock off for TMIC solutions.

Haha I know. I got knee surgery so I am not driving it or at least its not being pushed right now. My Dad takes it down the street to get like lunch or groceries. As soon as I go back to work a bigger IC will be going on. But for running 18+psi for about a year now I think I am doing pretty good haha.

.......haha every time I read horror stories about the 09s it scares me but yet I still don't listen. I guess I like pushing things to the limits a lot.

or just go all out and buy a front mount.
