Just as the title states, my question regards the fitment of an exhaust built for a WRX onto a 2.5i.
Are the cat-backs the same shape?

 

Well, if anyone wishes to know (I'm sure most people already know, lol), the WRX exhaust is very similar to the 2.5i. I asked Magnaflow, and they told me that they've heard of people installing the WRX one onto their 2.5i with slight modifications.

Is it true that the 2.5i has two catalytic converters?

 

i believe they are the same fitment. for 2.5 and wrx. I have the service manual if u want it.

I remember reading at magazines, and also heard a tech looking under my 2009 WRX, that the tubing was slightly bigger with better flowing muffler/resonator.

What I would like to know is what the resonator looks like inside, because outside is like a glasspack type.
