whats that sound?
Someone please help! My car is making a weird sort of clicking/gurgling sound. I only notice at slow speeds and idle, probably because the sound of the engine drowns it out after that. I haven't noticed a difference in power or anything, either. Also, There's a squeaking sound as well whenever i go over a bump or I'm in first gear and lurching at a stoplight or something. I'm pretty concerned about this, someone please help!
*The only mods I have on my car are Weapon R intake and bosch platinum 4's. (last time i had my spark plugs out one of them had brown oil on it, if that helps anyone).

I suppose the squeaking sound could be a spring. the squeak sounds like its coming from the area around my engine, almost like my engine itself squeaks, but only when i move. yesterday i sat and watched my engine run for like 5 minutes to see if i could see anything...nothing. i couldnt hear the clicking/gurgling sound outside the car, either. i havent noticed any power difference or anything, so i dont think its major, at least i hope not.

Take your plugs out, check em, and rotate em- just put one in a different cyl, etc. Just to see if there's anything visibly wrong with any of them. Also, they could be loose, I had that exact problem with the 'clicking' at idle, kind of a slapping sound like when low on oil. I had changed my oil at the same time, so I thought it was that at first. Hope this helps.

thanks, i'll rotate the plugs again. today i took one of those rubber things out that covers the whole and it too was covered in oil. i also checked my oil and its full, but i'll go around and rotate and tighten the plugs to see if it helps.

sounds like you have a leaking valve cover seal. nothing major but you should get it fixed ASAP. my shop only charges me $60 per side to reseal those covers, so you should be able to find somebody to do it for a reasonable price. take a close look at every part of your motor when you're under the hood, not just this or that, or whatever you're trying to find- it will save you a lot of trouble to notice these things before something breaks...hope you find an answer!

The click/gurgle sound is what I got when my plugs were loose, no sqeaking though. That could be an engine mount- or just a loose bolt on one.
But don't worry and jump to conclusions.
I would get your head under the hood any try to make the sound again- rev the motor some by hand with your head down where you think it might be coming from- idling won't change any loads on mounts or anything so it needs to be rev'd so things flex and that sound comes back. Let us know.
