Vavle Springs......will this work????
I was told that I could run STI vavle springs and retainers in my 98 DOHC RS. Has anyone had experience with this? Will it work? If it does, it will be a hell of a lot cheaper than the damn 500 bux for the Cobb. Let me know.
Thanks

You should be able to, Subaru parts are practically universal, but I don't see what difference it would make without cams. Are you just trying to raise the redline?

I am getting cams. I am using the cobb spicy cams, I just don't want to pay 500 bux for stupid valve springs. Do you think that the stock retainer could hold the raised spring tension of the STI spring and can I use my same "valve buckets" with the STI's. I am asking all this b/c the STI springs are only 4 or 5 a peice!

Nathan, use the cobb racer cams, thats what I have, not the spicy cams, they are more agressive! And, if you need custom ss valves for your engine, ask ben, he can get them for 600$ CAD whihc is much less that Cobb's. PM me is u have any q's.
