Turbo vs non-turbo exhaust???
Turbo vs non-turbo exhaust???
I'm not really considering exhaust yet, but was curious. What is the difference between a turbo and a non-turbo exhaust (excluding the turbo of course, as in catback or turboback or somthing)? I believe non tubo exhuast may not hold up to as high temps, but is a non-turbo exhaust better than a turbo exhaust on a non-turbo car, or vice versa? why? I thought of this cuz when you look at various exhaust some say turbo and some say non-turbo. thanx for any input or ideas.
usually you want a smaller exhaust diameter for back pressure on a non turbo car. Also as far as i know(im no expert) there shouldnt be a heat difference both should be made well enough to take some serious heat. I hope this helps some..
yes...for power in a na car you want back pressure. Turbo car you want to free the back pressure unless you want torque and not horse power then you want some. Its all in what kind of racing driving or just what you want that decides what sort of exhuast to buy. If you rally you want torque and to get torque you want some back pressure like the scooby sport exhaust 2.5 inch. If your racing on a track you would want something alittle bigger like a cobb, aps, turbo xs etc 3.0inch to 3.5 inch tips dont really matter they just make noise. but for a na i wouldnt go any bigger then a 2.5 inch. Hope this helps again.
