so i bought my 2002 2.5 rs and it came with a dual tip stromung exhaust .. and i know a kid that has the same car but different color who has the same exhaust but his is twice as loud and really lets the boxer sound be heard... and i have about 90000 miles on it so its more than broken in lol... why is his so much louder....

and how do i make mine AS loud.!!!

is yours just a axle back? cat back? header back? and do you know if his is an axle back cat back or header back?

What year is his?


Could be DOHC vs SOHC?
Single port vs dual port?

 

Maybe his has a different induction system increasing his engine's volumetric efficiency thus sending more gases down the exhaust at the same RPM?

Or maybe its not louder it's just more rumbly? In this case maybe he's got unequal length exhaust headers fitted? Good explenation here:

If it's none of these differences between the two then it could just be the car colour? Is yours white and his black?
