is the rs motor good?
right now i have a civic im finishing off, ive been into the import crowd for a long while now, and have swapped a dsm and a civic, along with rebuilding a couple d series top ends. i want to kno if a impreza 2.5 rs is a good car to get into tuning next. i was interested mainly becuase there awd, and i have heard u can run the sti motor into it, or at the least a wrx motor. how much hp can the stock motor handle on the internals, and how hard is the swap to a wrx/sti motor if the rs motor isnt as impresive as ive been thinking it is? thanks for ur help
As far as swapping goes, the hardest part is the wiring, physically it should go in without problems. I'd conntact LicMotorsports (a vendor here) www.licmotorsports.com They do swaps a lot, and r probably the best swappers in teh country (there in bay area, I don't know where your located.) I'd go over to the swap/transplant forum and browse a little to get a better idea. As far as how good the 2.5 is, I don't know (I have the weaker 2.2L), so I'll let someone else address that. It probably depends a lot on you though, I'd go test drive one, then you can see for yourself! GL
2.5RS(ej25) cant hold much boost if what it is what your asking. 6psi max i guess. This engine is not built for forced induction. If you want, you can either go for sti motor swap (sti is ej25t) or change the internals to suit turbo.
