Quicker engine response
I am interested in obtaining quicker/smoother engine response under hard acceleration (not WOT). I currently have Ganzflow+K&N, custom 2.25" midpipe+WRX axleback and unorthodox racing pulley. This is a daily driver, so I am not looking into getting more power just better engine response. I know these N/A boxer are capable of it.
Question: What might be the next best bolt-on for improvement?

FWIW, I've heard you don't want to go too light on flywheels- not under 9lbs. They do actually help keep the crank spinning steadily at high rpms and losses have been reported above 4500 with really light flywheels.
A REAL grounding mod will do wonders for responsiveness and make the car pull real smooth through the all the revs. Paranoidfabrications.com sells a very nice one for a very nice price. I would also have to suggest a set of headers to complete that nice exhaust setup you've got going on so far. If you don't want to do that, get a high flow cat instead....or both. But you do need something else down there to get things flowing well.

Tried a DIY grounding mod which seemed to work initially but things are getting a little rough again. However, ParaNoidFabs grounding kits are awesome for the price. I went with 10awg and cheapo connecters myself. Didn't solder or wrap up the cantacts with electricians tape either. The more I type the more I want to take out those wires and see how the car runs (I will after work tonight). It was only like $8 to make, but I think it may be a little half-@$$ed.
Anyhow, before we get moved to the wiring forum.
So a higher flowing cat, headers and a LW Flywheel. Three things I am sure most of us want who may not have. For those who have two or three of these, which would be the best first buy in the set?
Personally I am leaning toward new headers. CEL--CAT problems and installation of the flywheel deters me from those. Are headers worth putting on a daily driver? For the cost Borlas look like a deal though equal length headers seem to be supported by performance gains.

I have a Ganzflow Intake, K&N drop in filter, Borla Header, Apex'i N1 2.5" piping exhaust, Hyperground grounding mod and just got my Exedy flywheel and street clutch in today...I'll get back to ya after my install on the new parts ......but just FWIW I haven't so much noticed the power increase so much as I noticed the loss of power when I switched back to stock everything for emissions testing. It felt like granny's beat down grocery getter without all the mods. I think it's like not noticing weight loss or gain on people you see everyday but how much you notice at a 10 year reunion on people you haven't seen since graduation.
