Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

Best engine for response? You need more displacement.

Yea stay stock on the turbo. Ported stock manifold and e85 would Likely be a good combo, with a MBC.

Raise the compression ratio. Higher compression increases response.

you've heard right, I've got the grimmspeed pnp'd manifold w/ the high flow cross pipe, significant difference in low end response/spool which definitely is lacking on our 2.0's.. even more so than when I had my borla UEL headers IMO

Full headers will allow the turbo to spin slower but longer.

True a full header will allow for more mid/top end regardless of UEL/EL, although if i was going to do a header again I'd just go full EL since it really gives you more power throughout the rpm's + spool

PnP manifold/x pipe is more of a solution for the 2.0ers I think since you gain much more low end/spool, i.e on a vf'd 2.0(like myself) and still want the rumble

Otherwise EL is better in every way essentially, just gotta come to terms with losing your boxer rumble
