Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

Sure here's a few of how she looks, i'll post some more of how the mods look later

Also, what are the problems some of you are having with the borla headers?

I havnt had any. I did just install them though also, but were you guys running a high-flow cat also, i heard with new headers it's best to run with a high-flow cat too or you can run into problems??

I never acted like anything. I simply asked for information that some people (such as myself) would have wanted to know. You answered and I replied by saying thanks for all the great information.

I then took it a step further to show people that haven't searched that it 'appears' you aren't bull****ting us. You know how it is, this is the internet.

There are parts out there for our cars already. Some not made anymore, some just harder to find and some people aren't willing to spend the $$$ for. It doesn't matter. Good luck with your project and I hope the best for you and those who follow. Have a nice day!

BTW: Trust me, I know how it is to be in your shoes testing things on your ride. I've already had my 2.2ltr turbocharged and ran nitrous as well. Good fun! Hope you make gobs more power than I did and can pass it on to others.

Update...

The rain is causing delays... His shop is currently filled with snowmobiles and race cars... Since it won't stop raining, I can't get my car in and he won't put anything else outside as log as its wet...

Good news is, the snowmobiles should be gone by Friday... So keep checking back, as it could be anyday... Cody is supposed to call me as soon as he has room...

Borla headers have been known to crack easily, I would think this is solely based driving style. As far as I know there are no other alternatives for the EJ22 besides custom fabrication.

Borla headers + OEM cat = possible CEL (check engine light). This can be solved by installing a high-flow cat (Stromung, Random Tech, etc).

Cheers!

From my understanding, running the Borla headers with the stock cat(s) will cause more preesure to build up in the header, making it more likely to crack. High-flow cats will let this pressure get through.

Yep, that's why I installed my Stromung cat at the same time as my headers. Also I’ve read that the combination will improve gas mileage, but not too sure how accurate that is. But also with the borlas I had to bore out the holes on the flanges to match stock ones, it probably would still fit without boring them out but I tried and it was a pain in the *** and I wish good luck to the guy who has to take it off lol..

Also another thing to think of the 98's used a different size (smaller) flange bevel on the mid-pipe where the gasket seals to the cat than the 99+'s. My first mod to my car was Stromung mid pipe and dual muffler and I had to get the "98rs pipe" because the diameter of the inside of the flange is different on the cat or something like that. So when I wanted to get the Hi-flow cat i had to also buy the 99rs flange piece from Stromung and cut off the smaller 98 one weld the new myself onto the mid-pipe, also the bigger donut gasket from Subaru.

But since you have SPT I’m not sure how the flanges are or how they will line up with a new cat. It could just be how Stromung has it. If i would have known I would have just bought it all at once so I wouldn’t have to do the cutting and welding. I also suggest some Kartboy hangers cause after I had it all installed I got some minor rattling the new hangers fixed that for me.

Good Luck!
