There's many aspects to relate to your question. I've posted up a question on what I need to convert my 2.5RS to a WRX set up. The guys on here helped out a lot. Basically, you'll need all the parts of a donor STi or WRX front clip. Now, once you have those parts it's a matter of where your skills are. I've heard from friends that the physical labor (putting in the motor, tranny, etc) is not the worst thing in the world but I've heard that wiring is what gives people headaches. Overall, many ppl say its takes a lot of time and skill (and expensive too, so you'll probably have people tell you to just get a WRX). You should research some shops in WY or other forums =D Good luck!

That is correct gsxbusar1300. Unless you are planning to do it yourself, don't expect it to be gone cheaply. The cost of the swap (parts and labor) is almost as much as buying a used WRX.
Can it be done for cheap? Yes! But it requires you to have several things. Money, another car, and lots of patiences. I know East Coast Swappers can do it in under 6 hours, but they have done so many, and I assume that there are 4 or 5 people working on the car at once, is what contributed it to being finished so fast.
