intercooler screen for GC8
hi, im looking into buying an intercooler screen but i have a couple questions regarding the screen.
1. is the screen good for the NA 2.5RS in anyway? i mean, does it help the performance or at least help to cool the engine?
2. water getting into the engine is not a concern during heavy rain or when washing the car?
3. what do u think about taking off the covers for the side vents as well? i did that but the battery is straight under the vent so is that safe or not?
i really want to do this mod to my car but im very concern abt the safety with the water issues, any comments from people who have this on their car would really help.

I took the backing plate off my hood scoop, but I didn't bother with a screen. That's really only necessary for preventing bent fins on the intercooler you don't have yet.
I kept the plates on my side vents though, sicne I felt they would be letting in too much rain/wash water onto the battery and ABS valve block. I wouldn't worry too much about water on the airbox or the transmission below it.

I drive a 98 RS. One of the first things I did to my car was to take out the plates from both the hoodscoop and the 2 little ones. that was more then 2 years ago. Since then I have had absolutly no problems what so ever. My engine stays cool and whenever it rains its like cleaning your engine =0) Just make sure that you keep the plates in case you do a custom intake or something.
