Why would you do that? They weigh nothing and losing heat from your exhaust isn't a good thing even on NA motors. All you would do is heat up your engine bay.

well, i brought my car in to get a noise checked out, and it ended up being the heat shields rattling, and they ended up taking them off...i'm not sure which one(s) were taken off...
is that a bad thing?

well what happened was...i was getting a rattle when during decel...and the noise was coming from the middle/back of the car...so they checked it, and removed a heatshield, maybe more than one, but i don't think they removed the heat shields from the headers or cats...i'm thinking they removed heat shields somewhere from the midpipe back...i'm going to put it on a left this weekend to check it out...

well, i checked out the bottom of my car with my handy digital camera, and it turns out i only have one heat shield left, the one on the first cat...
it looks like the heat shields on the header has been gone for a while because it looks a little more rusted than the midpipe and muffler sections...
should i put exhaust heat wraps on the header to minimize the heat in the engine bay and to reducing heatsinking the engine bay and preventing any heat damage to the axles?
also, is it possible to put heat wrap on the headers without taking them off the car?
