Question Borla headers and stock heat shields?

Car: 2001 2.5RS
Question: Will the heat sheilds on the stock exhaust manifolds fit over the borla headers?
Reason: CYA purposes - so if a cop decides he wants to be nosey, they really wont know unless they wanna remove my headers

Thanks

Nope, the Borla goes around the oil pan in the totally opposite direction. Cops won't be able to see it though (never saw mine at least).

Actually they aren't CARB legal.

this is straight from the borla faq page

Some cars even have BORLA systems as the OEM exhaust. All of our street exhaust products are 50-state emissions legal. Our headers are 50-state legal and C.A.R.B. approved. In fact, it is illegal for a dealer to deny you the OE warranty because you have changed the exhaust system. "

Borla Gen 1 headers for Imprezas had CARB numbers- but then they revised them (3 times) and never updated them. This is why you don't get a CARB sticker with the header when you order it. It's not legal in California.

It's not an OEM part. Therefore, with no CARB number, it's illegal. That applies to every single possible engine mod except for a catback exhaust.

Spark plugs, air/oil/fuel filters, etc. are legal as they are replacement maintenance parts. But that doesn't change the fact that California automotive laws suck ***.

Yes, unless it comes with a CARB exemption number. Intakes are the single biggest red flag in a roadside hood pop inspection., If I still lived in CA I probably wouldn't run one at all.

'Cause in CA they're a bunch of stupid liberal ****** since theyre a$$holes on emission standards, thats why im choosing not to go w\a CAI so i dont set off red flags when a cop gets itchy to check...theyll check imports alot more than domestics and i dont blame them...i blame the stupid honda kids that **** it all up for everyone....but when ive had 3 mustangs completely modded, i never once got checked hehe thats why on my RS im trying to keep everything OEM looking to avoid a hassle and i dont wanna look ricey anyways
