Full Exaust options for a '02 OBS (2.5L)
I don't really know what I'm talking about when it comes to exaust, but what do you think would be the best for me to do?
Right now I'm looking to get a Cobb cat-back, and then get their EQUAL-LENGTH HEADER/HIGH FLOW CAT SYSTEM when it comes out.
I want it to sound good, but not loud. Anyone know how the cobb sounds and if I have any better options?

Equal length headers don't sound as good as Borla because they are equal length. Something about the interfering exhaust pulses causes that kickass sound. Equal length headers are louder than stock, but the quality of the sound comes more from the exhaust than the headers.

You really can't go wrong with Cobb anything. It's a tad pricey, but worth it. And since you have an EJ25, you should be able to bolt anything on from any RS, with the exception being that one of your exhaust flanges is rotated- so you may have to have some minor re-welding done to use some kits. Also, you have some different suspension bits, but in those cases WRX wagon parts will work. There's nothing completely unique to your OBS- you just have to know which chassis to compare it to for aftermarket stuff.

When the Cobb finally comes out, definitely those. In the meantime, MRT and Brullen make very good equal-length headers. In fact, the MRT is very very close to as much power as you can get out of the exhaust system, and it's only $700 for the complete system, headers, cat, midpipe, muffler.

MRT is equal length, and you can get the headers/cat combo for $400 or the exhaust section by itself too. More importantly, Cobb hasn't been finalized for production yet. In fact, it's been over a year since they announced they were in development and would be released soon. They make great products, but they take a loooong time to release them, although that's not a bad thing once they get out. You should also search this forum for 'Brullen' and check out their stuff. More expensive though.

If they give really good deals, sure. But actually, buying somewhere else can be an advantage. That way, Langston can pretend they have no idea who you are after selling you a heap of aftermarket parts in case you have a valid warranty claim. At the very least, pay cash for everything and order it under false names.
