Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

Exclamation Engine light- HELP PLEASE!

Ok.. i've been having an issue with my CE light. lately it has been going for a day, then the next day it will turn off. it will stay off for the whole day. then mid way through the next day it will turn on again. at first i thought maye it was a sensor, now i'm not totally sure. the car seems to be running fine for the most part. everyonce in a while it seems to have alittle less power in it. any ideas on this. i'd rather not spend the 70$ on the dealer ship reading the problem if it is just a simple little thing. if you have any ideas i can check that would be very much appreciated.

OH the spelling! What year is your car? Could be your MAF if it's a RS. Do you have any aftermarket exhaust components (headers or cats)?

go to AutoZone....you can rent a OBDII code checker for free (they held my license while I checked the code in the parking lot)

If you have a 2002 it's definately not a MAF as you don't have one... I have heard of headers throwing CELs. MBasile's idea sounds good though, check it out.

The stock O2 sensors suck as well. The wiring is flimsy and runs tight against the car. They often rip apart or disconnect. Also, Advanced auto parts has a universal code reader for about $60. Worth every penny. I use mine all the time on friends cars.
