oh yeah, i guess i didnt tell the whole process. you do have to let the car idle until the fans turn on, on top of what i previously said. once that happens, from everything ive seen, the ecu reset is complete.

Okay well I'm getting the proECM chip but I need some sort of justification for my parents aside from removing teh speed limiter. any ideas?

Tell them it will improve your gas mileage. When you are driving soft, just to get around, it actually will.

Drive hard, and it won't.
